RideArrangers Schoolpool Service

posted Oct 18, 2012, 8:55 AM by Unknown user

We are partnering with the RideArrangers’ Schoolpool service to assist families that are interested in carpooling, walking, biking or riding the RTD bus with other families to and from school. RideArrangers is a program of the Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG) that has been helping families in the region for nearly 20 years. RideArrangers’ Schoolpool service is free and there is no obligation to participate.

The service works as follows:

  • Using RideArrangers’ secure website, parents register to find and contact interested Horizon families in their area. Parents can optionally share their email address and phone number with others to make it easier for other parents to contact them; addresses are never shared.

  • Families are only matched with Horizon families. Optionally, parents can use the website to find nearby families from other participating schools.

  • Comments can be added to indicate special requests or preferences (i.e., “can provide morning rides,” “student is in afterschool activities,” “currently carpooling,” etc.).

  • The service can be used for planning full-time, part-time, special event or emergency trips.

  • It is a great resource to meet nearby Horizon families for other reasons such as temporary

transportation needs, play dates, baby sitters, summer BBQs, etc.

  • The more families that register, the more likely families are able to find good matches.

Registration is free and your information is secure. Here’s how to register:

  1. Go to ridearrangers.org

  2. Click SCHOOLPOOL

  3. Click “View participating schools”

  4. Select Horizon High School from the list of schools

  5. Follow the step-by-step registration instructions

(Horizon High School’s enrollment passcode: HAWKS)

Contact RideArrangers at 303-458-7665 or ridearrangers@drcog.org for assistance.

We assume no responsibility, but provide this information for your use. RideArrangers does not run background checks, confirm valid drivers’ licenses or assess insurance coverage on participants.
