ATTENDANCE;

Since this is a block class, and a lot of activities and information will take place, it is important to be at every class. TARDIES- after 3 tardies, you will be assigned a detention or community service. EACH TARDY THEREAFTER, WILL BE ASSIGNED A DETENTION. The instructors will notify a parent/guardian to discuss absences and tardies.

GRADING; Your grades are weighted in this class. Classwork/homework (group and individual) count for 50%. Tests and quizzes for 50%. You are notified when a test will occur at least 5-7 days before the test is given. There is absolutely no reason to decline taking the test if you have been in class during that time.(WE DO NOT ACCEPT, but I havenít been here the past two days") Because this is an integrated class, you will receive one grade for the semester. The FINAL grade will be given at the end of second/fourth quarter. Credit is not awarded at the end of the first or third quarters. We average your two quarter grades for the final grade.

GRADING SCALE; 100-90= A, 89-80= B, 79-70= C,

69-60= D and 59 or below= F

1st Qtr.-78%

2nd Qtr.-62%

Total: 140/2 = 70%

Final grade= C

EXTRA CREDIT; Extra credit will be given on an individual basis. Extra credit will be accepted only if ALL ASSIGNMENTS ARE COMPLETED AND TURNED IN. Extra credit can not replace a missing assignment.

CADAVER PROGRAM; We have a program set up through Lutheran Hospital where the top students from our anatomy classes may attend to observe and assist medical students working on a human cadaver. This trip will take place near the end of the semester. There is limited space and strict requirements. We can only take the students with the highest percentage of total points for both quarters.(AT LEAST 75% OR BETTER) The cadaver is not required; it is an extra activity for those who are interested and eligible. The cost and further details will be discussed later in the semester.
