About Horizon High School:
Opened in the fall of 1988, Horizon High School is one of five high schools in Adams County Five Star School District. Located in Thornton, a residential suburb northeast of Denver, Colorado, Horizon is a public school with an enrollment of approximately 1900 students in grades nine through twelve.
About Horizon DECA:
Presently, DECA membership is open to freshmen (enrolled in Food & Beverage Management), sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Our 2007-2008 DECA Chapter is 218 members strong. Students enrolled in Marketing, International Marketing, or Management/Entrepreneurship are required to be DECA members since DECA is a c0-curricular student organization. Students who work in the school's Hawk Rock Cafe, Subway, or the DECA Hawks Nest School Store have the opportunity to join DECA and participate in chapter DECA activities. This year we have five Marketing classes, two International Business classes, and one Management/Entrepreneurship class. We also have forty-eight students enrolled in Food and Beverage Management who work in the school store or one of the other food venues at Horizon. We presently have three Marketing instructors who are also DECA advisors.
