The Adams 12 Five Star School Counseling program supports the development of the whole child by advocating for academic, social/emotional, career and post-secondary needs and strives to develop life-long learners and productive citizens.

The Adams 12 Five Star School  Counseling program works collaboratively with parents, community members and educators to empower every child, regardless of individual differences or obstacles, to ensure all students are prepared for meaningful, productive learning through a data-driven comprehensive K-12 school counseling program.


Horizon High School Seniors & Parents --- SAVE THE DATES!

Horizon has three night program opportunities to assist with college preparation and the college process.  

Thursday, October 3rd 6:00 – 7:00pm  Financial Aid Information Presentation

Tuesday, October 22nd 4:30 – 6:30pm  FAFSA & application Help Session

Monday, November 4th 6:00 – 7:00pm  College Fair at MRHS - link to sign up https://www.gotocollegefairs.com/

In addition, once your senior has BEEN ACCEPTED TO COLLEGE, ENLISTED IN THE MILITARY or has a SET CAREER PATHsend their senior picture to their counselor to be put on the SENIOR BOARD in the hall for the class of 2020!  We want ALL seniors on the board!

Financial Aid Information Presentation – This presentation by Regis University, will cover college costs, financial aid, FAFSA introduction, and being knowledgeable about student debt. Thursday, October 3rd 6:00 – 7:00pm in the Student Center

FAFSA & Application Help Session – This is a time to bring your information and complete the FAFSA or a college application with support.  FAFSA completion usually takes between 30 minutes to 1 hour to complete and both student and parent are needed for the submission step.  Creating the student and parent FAFSA ID is the first step.  See attached list of items to bring.   (Please note the FAFSA opens on October 1st) Tuesday, October 22nd 4:30 – 6:30pm in the Horizon Library.    *Disponibilidad de ayuda en el idioma español.

CCHS/CR College Fair – Colleges will have representatives at Mountain Range High School (the high schools rotate hosting the fair) to talk to students and parents about their college and the admission process.  Many of the representatives at the fair will be the ones reading your college applications.  Be there to put your name on their list!  (Flyer attached)  All high school grade levels welcome.  Monday, November 4th 6:00 – 7:00pm  College Fair at MRHS - link to sign up https://www.gotocollegefairs.com/
