HORIZON HIGH SCHOOL
HHS band is having a Mattress Fundraiser on December 1st at Horizon from 10-5 p.m.
November is CRPS Awareness Month What is CRPS you ask, Complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) is a chronic pain condition most often affects one of the limbs (arms, legs, hands, or feet), usually after an injury or trauma to that limb. But, we say usually because it isn't always true! For many, it starts in a single location and spreads from there.
The key symptom is prolonged severe pain that may be constant. It has been described as “pins and needles” sensation, or as if someone were pouring gas on the affected limb and setting it on fire “burning”. People with CRPS also experience changes in skin temperature, skin color, or swelling of the affected limb. This is due to abnormal micro circulation caused by damage to the nerves controlling blood flow and temperature. As a result, an affected arm or leg may feel warmer or cooler compared to the opposite limb.
This November we will be selling awareness bracelets for $1.00 ea.(in the office) to help spread awareness. Your money goes to www.ferociousfighters.org to help send out care packages to children who are fighting this horrible disease around the world.
