Students represent district in cooking competition

Students represent district in cooking competition

Congratulations to our Adams 12 Five Star Schools team that competed at the Colorado School Nutrition Association's One Plate Challenge competition in February! Shannon Brownell and Brayden Weaver from Horizon High School are our ProStart students who competed in the One Plate Challenge.

The One Plate Challenge is a live cooking competition where four teams of two have 45 minutes to create a dish.

As with every cooking competition, there is a twist that involves a mystery ingredient. Students present their dishes to a panel of local-celebrity judges. This year's judges included two local chefs/restaurant owners and Justin Domsch, Executive Chef for the Denver Broncos.

The competition was held on Friday, February 16 at the Cherry Creek School District Innovation Campus. Our district team was sponsored by Land O'Lakes.

Colorado School Nutrition Association (CSNA) hired a video production company to document the event and create a 20 minute episode that will premiere at CSNA's summer conference in June! Results of the competition are not shared until that event. Stay tuned!
