About me: I have been teaching... a long time. I completed my BA from CU Boulder in 1990, double-majoring in History and Political Science, additionally receiving a teaching license. I received a MA in US History from CU Denver in 1999. My first position for Adams 12 was at Niver Creek Middle School where I taught for seven years. I came to Horizon High in 1999 and have been very blessed by students, parents, staff, and administration. Since 2013, I have taught AP World History and for the past five years have served College Board as a reader on the AP World History national exam. From 2016-2020 I served as an instructional leader for Horizon's leadership team.
My personal interests include working out, playing guitar, watching the Buffs, Rockies, Nuggets, and Broncos, and playing nerdy games of all sorts. For pleasure I read schlock science fiction, graphic novels, and anything by Cormac McCarthy. My wife and I are the proud parents of five great kids, four of whom are Horizon grads while the fifth is currently enrolled as a senior. Our household is very much a part of Hawk Nation!
