Healthy Choices, Positive PE, Lifetime Fitness.
Welcome to Horizon PE and Health! I recieved my undergrade in Sports & Exercise Science (K-12 PE) and my masters in Special Education from the University of Northern Colorado- GO BEARS! I was lucky to meet my husband in college who also works in education as an adminstriator. I began my teaching career in 2008 and became a teacher here at Horizon in 2016. I have taught PE and Health at both the middle school and high school level. In the past I have coached a variety of sports but now with two young boys of my own my extra time is devoted to them. We stay busy with LEGOS, dinos, super heros and going to the zoo. Along with teaching here at Horizon, I am also a sponsor for the class of 2024 and the District Health Coordinator for Secondary Schools. My passion in teaching comes from the endless opportunities I get to build relationships with students and instill skills on living a positive healthy lifestyle. I believe it is important and vital for all students to value lifelong fitness and activity. When I am not teaching, I enjoy working out, mountain getaways, staying busy with my boys and their activities. The best way to contact me is through the website contact form or call me at extension #4511.
For Remote Learning all class content, assignments and Zoom links can be found on Schoology. If there is a request or need for Zoom meetings outside of class time we can absolutely make that happen, we will need to set up a scheduled time. For our asynchronous Wednesdays I will be available through email and Schoology. If there is a need for a drop in or scheduled meeting please plan that during our scheduled class time.
