After graduating from the University of Denver in 1987 with a bachelor's degree in history and a minor in Spanish, I subbed for a year in the district. I was hired in 1988 to teach Spanish at the district's new Horizon High School and have been here ever since. I taught Spanish for several years, and then switched to Social Studies. Since then, I obtained a Masters in the Humanities from the California State University Dominguez Hills' distance learning program. I have taught almost every Social Studies class, from Sociology to A.P. U.S. History and have been active in district level curriculum development. For the past several years I have taught 10th grade World History, 11th grade U.S. History and Topics in Philosophy.
My online classroom is located on Schoology and the best way to contact me is through email. I will also be using the Remind app, so you can text any questions you might have. I will be using Zoom for our class meetings - all login information will be on Schoology.
