Math 2/3B, Math 3S
Bio: This will be my 8th year of teaching math and my first year teaching at Horizon High School. I have previously worked as an 8th grade teacher and curriculum developer for other districts in Colorado. I have my masters in curriculum and instruction of secondary math and my undergrad is in mathematics. You may see my name for the first few weeks as Ms. Platt - I just got married and am waiting for social security to update my name. I am very excited to teach high school and to be a member of the Hawk family. Outside of school, I teach yoga and meditation classes. At my last school I coached our cheerleading team and have worked many years as a gymnastics coach. I love to be active and outside - I enjoy playing golf, tennis, hiking, paddleboarding, and snowboarding. When I am not outside you can find me playing the guitar, the piano, reading a book or hanging out with my husband and our two dogs!
-All class content and information will be posted in Schoology: please reach out if you can't log on or find my class.
-Students are required to log on to my zoom link at the start of their scheduled class time ( 9:41 for 3rd period, 12:39 for 6th period, and 1:39 for 7th) **link has been removed to protect student privacy - find your zoom link in schoology **
-Attendance will be taken Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday for students who attend synchronous (live) learning on zoom.
-There will not be a required zoom lesson on Wednesdays - but there will be work to complete independently. On Wednesdays, students will work asynchronously on an assignment on schoology and have attendance taken for completion of the task. During scheduled class time on Wednesdays, I will be available for office hours via email.
