My Background:
I am a Social Studies teacher. This year I will be teaching two 11th grade cores (U.S. History) and Civics.
I began my teaching career at Horizon High School in November 1999. In addition to teaching social studies, I am a reading teacher/reading specialist. I am passionate about supporting students' reading improvement and incorporate many reading strategies into my daily lessons. I am willing to support all students in improving their reading. As a firm believer that all students need to participate in some extra-curricular activity that provides them with a core group of other students with similar interests, I sponsor of the Creative Writing Club.
Students are able to access class materials on Google Classroom. The best way to contact me is through my email lou.nelson@adams12.org
