Math 1/2 Block, AP Calculus BC, Math 2 Single
I began my teaching career in 1993 and became a teacher at HHS in 2004. In addition to teaching math, I enjoy attending school events and activities in which my students are involved. Although I love teaching them math, I'm always happy to see my students as people outside of the classroom. When I'm not teaching, I spend my time with my family as much as possible - fishing and being in nature - along with reading, needlework, watching old black-and-white movies, watching my favorite sports - hockey, football, and baseball - and listening to music. I have a daughter, Jessica, who graduated from Horizon in 2014, graduated from the University of Wyoming, and is now working as a mechanical engineer in Florida.
I will be using Schoology to house all content and assignments during remote learning this school year. This school year, students should already be enrolled in all of their Schoology classes and students as well as parents are able to access Schoology through their Infinite Campus accounts.
Also, until the end of October, I will be mentoring a student teacher, Mr Sam Song, who will be teaching various lessons in the upcoming weeks.
Students are required to attend classes during their scheduled class time and attendance will be taken daily. We will start each class with a Zoom meeting where students will be given information as to how the class period will be run that day. On any given day, we may be doing full class instruction, break off into groups, work on self paced content or assignments and perhaps even come back together at times to check student progress. All information needed to complete content and assignments will be posted in schoology, but please feel free to text me on remind or email me with any questions. Grades will be updated each week by Thursday and can be found by accessing Infinite Campus.
I will be communicating primarily with Remind this year, so please make sure you have joined my class. When joining please use your full name and select whether you are a student or parent. To join, please send the following message (select the code for your class period) to the number 81010:
Period 2: Math 2 Single @296a97 Period 5: AP Calculus BC. @ec2ahf
Period 3: Math 2 Single @44efk6 Period 7-8: Math 1/2 Block @bk34cg3
Please let me know if there is anything that I can do to help in any way possible. I can't wait for the day to come when I can see/meet you all, everyday in class, in person! Hawk Love :)
